Partner for the Whitchurch-Stouffville Soccer Club
WSSC is a non-profit organization wholly dependent on volunteers. In 2007, the club introduced a partner program to engage the membership of WSSC in supporting the operation of the club. Previously, the same volunteers were being called upon continually to fulfil activities that range from the lining of fields to delivering brochures and newsletters.
The partner program encourages each family to provide at least 5 hours of volunteer time over the season. It also outlines a governance framework for the better management of resources and skills to allow partners with no soccer knowledge to fully engage with WSSC in the pro“`vision of the sport of Soccer we all love.
The town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is growing rapidly and the Partner program is vitally important to help WSSC meet the future expansion and demand around:
• Outdoor field resources
• Indoor field resources
• Administrative and Operational support
• Equipment resources
• Training of all support staff and volunteers
• Community support
• Government support
The rationale behind this program is to allow WSSC to evolve a quality community service in concert with the growing needs of the town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
All partner families will be given a waitlist priority for their child(ren), a preferred status, and offered other incentives.
By building up partner capacity, the club will be better able to run the Wein Way program and promote strategic initiatives such as the full utilization of the Bethesda Outdoor Fields and the new Indoor Facility for the benefit of our members and the community at large.
The Whitchurch-Stouffville Soccer Club (WSSC) has proactively launched a number of initiatives that will allow it to grow as the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville grows. One of these Growing with Stouffville initiatives is a program that will expand our volunteer ranks to help us meet the rapidly changing needs of our community. Under this program, WSSC will have two types of members:
PARTNER MEMBERS are those soccer players who have one or more family members that partner with WSSC by performing a minimum of 5 hours of volunteer work for the club over the course of the season.
MEMBERS are those soccer players who have no family members partnering with WSSC by contributing their time to the club in some volunteer work during the season.
Partner Members will have priority over non partner Members in being assigned playing slots within the various WSSC non try-out teams. Stouffville’s high population growth will increase the demand for playing slots beyond the number of available slots. Becoming a Partner Member will ensure your access to the available playing slots over others.
